Pregnancy is always a very exciting and precious moment. However, for some ladies, pregnancy may be physically and emotionally challenging for different reasons.

Pregnancy acupuncture may be the ideal form of treatment as it offers women drug-free relief for a variety of conditions present during pregnancy and childbirth. Treatment may be used to relieve a variety of symptoms including pregnancy related musculoskeletal pain such as pelvic pain, lower back pain and morning sickness. (1)(2)(3)

WHEN CAN I START ACUPUNCTURE DURING PREGNANCY?

You can start acupuncture at any stage of your pregnancy. You can also start treatments even if you don’t have any particular symptom or complaint, as this may only assist to prevent any health issues which could develop during your pregnancy.

Ideally, from 4 weeks-12 weeks, weekly treatments may optimize maternal health assisting with a healthier pregnancy.

 From 12-30 weeks pregnant, we suggest having treatments every fortnight or monthly. From 34-40 weeks having weekly treatments may be beneficial to assist with any muscular discomfort previous to birth as well as preparing for labour.(4)
